Birimo Consultancy is a Somali-led professional services firm with operational presence in Kismayo. We offer specialized, context-sensitive consulting services to government institutions, international organizations, and donor agencies. Testimonial from FAO Somalia – Fisheries Training Project
Birimo Consultancy successfully delivered a high-impact, four-week capacity-building workshop for fisheries cooperatives in Jubaland, Somalia. Contracted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Birimo led the technical training with professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and deep local knowledge. The program certified 60 trainees across 20 cooperatives, developed post-harvest action plans, and significantly improved fish handling, hygiene, and preservation practices. FAO commended Birimo’s ability to empower community groups and deliver tangible results—such as a reduction in fish spoilage and enhanced hygiene at landing sites. Birimo Consultancy has been a strategic partner to the Ministry of Fishery and Blue Economy – Jubaland State of Somalia in delivering impactful fisheries development initiatives. Between October 2024 and March 2025, Birimo successfully implemented two major assignments: a Two-Week Capacity Building Workshop for Fisheries Cooperatives and a comprehensive Fish Market Assessment across key markets in Kismayo.
